Can anyome tell me why i have been charged so much for data in greece?? I thought o2 allowed you to use your data allowance in the EU??

Parts of Greece are close to Turkey.........did you connect to a Turkish network ?

 

If you auto-connect to networks rather than manual connect then that is a possibility.

Also if you went over your allowances you would have been charged

As said above if you were near to Turkey and connected to one of those networks you would also have incurred charges...

Accidental roaming occurs when you're in an area close to a national border and your phone picks up the network across the border. If this happens, you may be charged as though you were roaming in the country across the border. You can prevent this by choosing manual, rather than automatic, network selection on your handset and then manually choosing the O2 network. This way if you lose the O2 network, your handset won't try to connect you to a different one.

Hey @Anonymous It's very likely as the guys have stated above that you inadvertently connected to a Turkish network but it would be great if you could confirm this and let us know :slight_smile:
