internet access on my phone has stopped while in EU and I believe I have not used all my data

Manually browse for available networks after powering-off and restarting your phone, @Oriol, see if that helps. A poor signal or busy network may be the problem. You can also try one of the networks marked as Forbidden to get you back up and running. Take care if you are in a region close to a border with a country that does not offer roaming to O2, eg Turkey when in Cyprus Guide: Roaming in Turkey and Cyprus
Finally, try setting your phone from 5G to 4G, or even 3G - but some networks have decommissioned 3G already in some countries.

How long have you been roaming in the EU?
O2 only allow 63 days in any 4 month period.
