I’m off to Canada on 31st May. I already have the travel bolt on but ideally don’t want to pay £6 a day as I’m more likely to need WiFi rather than texts and phone calls. So yesterday I purchased Data Roaming zone 1 bolt on. If I just use data will this bolt on kick in? If I use the phone or texts would the travel boot on kick in? Not sure how the O2 system is able to prioritise them. If I turn the Travel bolt on off as has been suggested in other threads would I then get charged large sums if I got a phone call or text? Ideally I want both available depending on what I need each day. Confused?!

@LW54 - use this tool to tell you what is available to you when travelling outside UK and EU:
https://www.o2.co.uk/international/using-your-phone-abroad
O2 Travel Inclusive Bolt-On is available to those on certain Plus tariffs and to those who have Volt activated (ie active Virgin Media broadband and O2 Contract at the same time and at the saem address: Volt Megaguide)
If you do not have O2 Travel Inclusive, your next best option is standard O2 Travel (confusing names, yes).

Good luck, @LW54.

Depending on how much data you require @LW54 whilst in Canada, buying a local SIM might be an option to consider. You can obviously purchase one in Canada, or procure one from Amazon UK prior to departure.
I have heard other forum members say not to buy at the airport as the price will be inflated, but I am unsure how Amazon UK compares to prices on the Canadian High Street. 👍
