Rewards for pay monthly?

I received a text from O2 yesterday saying that my rewards have been calculated at £2.50 up to now. 

I am a little confused - is this an error due to me previously being on PAYG because I thought that Pay Monthly didn't do rewards?

It may be what's left from when you migrated to pay monthly that's all.

Yes there are no rewards for pay monthly. You may find it will be transferred to your monthly account as a credit on your next bill. If not you may have to ask them to do so.

I just presumed that it all got transferred when it was set up.

They transfer any payg credit over on the migration.

The rewards will not have come to fruition as you migrated. As you've earned them by topping up its only fair to give you the % back still.

I contacted O2 and they said that there is nothing on my account to suggest about the rewards so I am baffled by the text.

You could forward a screen grab of the text to O2 Cust serv to see.

I suppose it all hinges on how much you want the £2.50 to the hassle of chasing it.

Just to update you and to finish this thread off - it turns out the the PAYG reward cannot be credited to my pay monthly account - which contradicts what I have previously been told and all of the texts that O2 have sent me reminding me of the reward I am owed.  It's only £2.50 so I shall leave it be now.
