Returning to o2

Last week I decided to return to o2 on a sim only package.  The sim arrived Friday, and I requested a port of my old number using PAC code which I presume will happen Monday.  The billing month has started from Thursday last week, before I even had the sim, and before the number is moved over...what have I done wrong?

I get that, but surely a month in advance from when o2 actually provide the service, not before they even ship the sim?

That's the way it is with O2, you won't pay until 14 days after your bill date, as explained in the link shared above:

Well that’s ridiculous, if it takes a week for the sim to arrive they will be charging me for something that they have not provided…the fact they collect the payment later does not matter as they appear to be charging for the service before the sim was even activated. I hope o2 don’t have the attitude of “That’s the way it is…”….as it won’t be the way it is for me.

I don't work for O2, @PaulMc, I am a customer, the same as you. You still have a cooling-off period, should you wish to send the SIM back when it arrives, and move back to your previous provider.
