Replacement SIM card not working

I lost my sim while away. I had to come back due to the lock down. I requested a new SIM card and it didn’t work. I phoned O2 and was told I needed it activate the sim by an incredibly dismissive team member. I can’t text “swap” as my old sim is lost and the sim I have currently can’t seem to pick up any signal at all.
After reading a few threads I assumed the sim was faulty. I spent 2 hours on hold to attempt to be sent another. I was told that I just needed to pop the sim in my phone and it would be fine. Exactly the same with this SIM card, no service found.
I have reset my phone and attempted to call customer service but I’m unable to get through - I’m assuming due to the lock down.
Could anyone shed some light into how to get this thing going?

Your account is still barred, you need to call again and ask them to remove the bar from your account.

It's very busy currently for obvious reasons. You'll have to keep trying.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
