Relocating to US from UK and want to keep my current number active

Next month I will relocate from the UK to the US, perhaps for up to 3 years. I currently have ~£300 to pay on my current monthly contract. I would like to keep my number active in case I return to the UK. Would it be best to simply pay off the remaining balance of the monthly contract and switch to pay as you go to maintain the number?

Only sensible way to do it, although O2 PAYG may not be best.

All PAYG SIM cards (and there are less now) have some sort of restriction re top ups and use to keep them active. So you need to pick one that is the best fit for you

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@DrG The only way to keep your number would be to switch to Pay & Go. You might want to look at how other networks operate their top-up policies, as they may be less complicated than O2's bundles nonsense.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
