Refresh tariff change

Anonymous
Not applicable
I upgraded to a refresh tariff on Friday (haven't collect phone from depot yet). I was told in the O2 shop that with my O2 Open code I would get 30% off my total monthly bill... I am not lead to believe this is wrong and it's only 30% off the air time tariff. So my monthly bill is going to be quite a bit more than I was originally lead to believe.

Where do I stand moving to a lower tariff now? Will I have to cancel everything and send the phone (which I haven't even got yet) back and then take out a brand new contract? Or will O2 let me change as I'm still I'm the change your mind and cooling off period?

I paid the fast track to upgrade to refresh.

Thanks.

You will have to cancel and take out a new tariff.
The 30% as you have found out is just off the airtime portion of the contract.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

That's poor advice at store level. 😔

You have 7 days cooling off period.

Would you let us know how you get on.

Will they let me keep the phone (I haven't picked up yet) and cancel current tariff and take out a new one? Or is this too optimistic?! Or am I going to have to pick the phone up to send it back, only to order the same phone again on a different tariff? I want the same phone just on a lower tariff!

That's something you need to sort out with the store or CS.
Makes sense to me but may not to O2.......?

By all means speak to the staff in-store but it may mean starting from scratch.

It should be possible but then this is o2.........

Let's see how we can screw it up first then spend hours sorting it out later

No, first you'll have to cancel,
Then they will invoice you total cost of phone.
Then you pick up phone, not open it and send it back.
Then they will spend weeks looking at the box.
Then the may refund the cost of the phone against your bill.
Then they may let the local drunk have a look,
Then you can reorder without any worry about the 2 phones on your account and the overdue balance of over 500 quid.

Jk

Unfortunately, that is most likely how it will go.....

How sad that someone who actually WANTS to be with o2 and isn't on here complaining is likely to end up on here complaining.
