Sorry if this has been covered but im still not that clear.

Once the phone part has been paid off, do I still have to pay the same line rental for 24 months or am I free to cancel/downgrade?

Just trying to work out what is best for me as I will be able to pay the phone price in full first thing anyway.

Thanks

But could you go into carphone warehouse once the device is paid off and upgrade as normal which would then start a new contract with them and cancel the air time contract with o2?

Yes but tell O2 of your intent to cancel and upgrade elsewhere.

Also, no refresh at CPW.....

But if you cancel with o2 then it's no longer an upgrade as there is no contract to renew.

You are probably right but what is the answer to the cancelling airtime with o2 and upgrading with cpw question? It still seems unclear to me. Forgive me if I'm being a bit slow! I'm new to refresh.

I have two mandates, airtime and device. If i settled the device one i would still gave to procure the airtime as it is a separate direct debit. This is how i understand it.

Pay off your phone and inform O2 of your "intent" to upgrade with CPW.
When you go into CPW to upgrade explain that you have paid off your device (phone) plan and they will process your upgrade and cancel the airtime part you currently have with O2.

It allows you to pay off the device and leave the airtime running if you wish, so basically you move yourself to simo.

The refresh offer, however, is that once the device has been paid off, O2 will wave the airtime costs to allow you to upgrade or walk away without any further cancellation fees.

OK. That's interesting....I would only be wishing to upgrade to a service that can give me 4G though.
