Today I received what I thought was my new iPhone 15 pro contract phone and to my surprise I open the box and the phone was missing even tho the box had the 2 peel off seals. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I’ve already contacted o2 regarding this I’m just curious to find out if anyone has had the same think happen

Furious, rightly so. It is for O2 to take up with DPD - hope you retained the courier packaging as well as the (empty) phone carton.

You can also message O2 Sales Team on Social Media - on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , X/Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)
Or you can call them on 0800 081 0255, to get through to Sales free from any UK phone, @JanDan.

Good luck!

Thanks. Yes, I am keeping everything and also messaged DPD as someone is clearly stealing these. Apple need to up their packaging of it’s this easy to get into their boxes and then reseal them!

I've said it many times, but for high value mail order items, take a video of you opening the sealed box. That way you have proof and it's not your word against their's.

Yep, perhaps it should be mentioned in any relevant guides - Upgrading, Ordering as starters?

@JanDan here is a similar one not too long ago, also DPD:

@MI5 unfortunately this is something I would never even think of. Why would I, right? This has never happened to me before. Well I know I will be doing that from now on! Replacement phone sorted today, trying to get it delivered by someone else but DPD, but I will for sure record this one and maybe even force the driver to stay for the opening part!

So many thieves and scammers everywhere these days, so unfortunately, you have to think like them to protect yourself.

@JanDan

You are assuming that a member of DPD's staff has done this ; but we do not actually know that DPD were not handed an empty packet, which would explain why the security seals were intact.

Anyway, good luck in resolving the issue and please keep us informed of developments ! 👍

Hello! I just had the exact same thing... DPD saying they tried and I wasn't in (they had gone to the wrong address) and then when they redelivered it was just an empty box. Did you get it resolved? o2 are saying they will launch a fraud investigation on mine

It will be,  but you may have to wait a few days for o2 and DPD to investigate, and to be honest the number of people try this on, means they will do the investigation before sending out a replacement..

This is not customer services and we dont have access to your account
I do not work for o2 or any VMo2 /Telefonica/Liberty Global Company
