Re: How to cancel O2 contract?

I have a similar problem. I have a HTC One S which I am very happy with on contract until mid 2014. Call quality/reliability has never been great from my home address but recently its deteriorated to an unacceptable level - to say it is abysmal is an understatement. Very often I cannot make or receive calls at all.

I've just checked my home address using the O2 coverage checker and I'm right at the edge of a small circular area of poor coverage. Image attached. I really can't carry on like this - can someone tell me what options I have if any?

Thanks

Alan

There is an app on the way called TuGo, which will enable you to make calls using your home's wifi. It's still on trial and there's no definite date for when it will be released, but it will certainly help your ability to make calls indoors.

Have you tried turning 3G off and using 2G only?

In Wireless and Networks 3G is usually marked as WCDMA and 2G as GSM.

Yes, I'm currently trying that but it doesn't seem to offer much improvement.
I can sometimes get some level of acceptable use during the day but during the evening and night its non existent. If I do make a call I daren't move or walk about for fear of losing the connection.

Assuming you've tried cleaning the sim and restarting the phone, if no faults show here using your full postcode:

http://status.o2.co.uk/

report it to O2.

Thanks for the info - I've just googled it and it seems to be an answer. Hope I don't have to wait too long.

You aren't the only one, they're doing tests now so with a bit of luck in the next month or two would be my guess.
