Since the RPI was actually 3% in November and not 3.2% like O2 have reported it to be does that mean I can cancel my contract since the rise in my contract is not inline with inflation like O2 said.

Also considering this is a consumer product should they not use the CPI or do they always use the one that suits them (like the government)

another link that shows Inflation Rates across the year
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10612209
the email sent to me on December 13 stated:
'That's a rise of 3.2%, the same as the current rate of inflation.'
so you have a point!

adamtemp64, that can't be classed as the 'current' rate of inflation, though.
at best, its the last calculated rate of inflation.
RPI is calculated once a month and o2 did use the latest figure available 11th december 7 days before the november rpi was announced today.

Hi guys,
We have a great discussion going on in the thread below about the price changes so head over there to talk about this story with everyone else
http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/Increase-in-Tariff-Cost/td-p/364896
That way, its easier for Leonard and I to take a look at everyone's views and pass on info to the rest of the team in an efficient and beneficial way. I'll lock this thread now, so head over there to chat about this.
Cheers!
Toby
