Question regarding a mobile upgrade

Anonymous
Not applicable

I Currently have a device on a pay monthly contract with three months remaining. This morning i upgraded my handset as part of O2 refresh to the new note8 on pre-order (having to wait around three weeks for the device to be released) but on my way to work tonignt the headphone port on my current device has gone faulty and will not work. Can i still return the phone to O2 for a free repair as part of my contract or would I have to pay.

Hi @Anonymous It depends on you make of phone. If Samsung they povide you with a 2 year warranty ...if its an iPhone they only give you 12 months. However we always recommend returning phone to manufacturer as opposed to O2 repairs

Samsung repairs here http://www.samsung.com/uk/info/contactus/

Apple here https://support.apple.com/en-gb/contact

If you want to use O2 repairs then contact customer services here https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

Try cleaning the headphone socket gently to make sure it isnt filled with fluff before you do anything though

If still under warranty it can be repaired.
It doesn't matter that you are in the process of upgrading at all.
If out of warranty you would need to pay.
We always recommend the manufacturer rather than o2 repairs though.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:

@Anonymous Please let us know how you get on with this! Great choice on the Note 8 too, looks like a decent handset.
