Hi, I am planning to switch from my current SIM only contract with 3 which ends on the 27th of this month to a new SIM only contract with O2, but am not sure on when the best time to do this is. I have already told 3 I am leaving them and have received my PAC code, but I am not sure when I should buy my new O2 sim.
I would like to avoid paying for 2 contracts at the same time, so I am hesitant to buy the new SIM from O2 immediately and wait for the 28th to move over. Can anyone let me know if the O2 contract starts from when i buy it or when I put it in my phone and use it first? thanks

o2 will start you the day the order is placed @jojka90210 but you can get them to refund a few days between the contract starting and the sim arriving.
Best time to port would be once the o2 sim has arrived and you have confirmed it working.

The PAC issued by Three is valid for 30 days. So you should be in the time frame

@jojka90210 Also bear in mind that O2 doesn't port numbers on the weekend, so you're best to start the process early in the week, whichever week you choose.
