Problems with My pay monthly phone

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have to send my Samsung s5 away to be fixed on monday and as this is the first ever phone to break on me I kinda dont want it back (To many Problems).

Is there any way that o2 do a like for like kind of deal were as i can get a phone similar to it?

I don't want to pay £480 for the refresh as I've only had it since August 2014.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous

I don't think there is anyway O2 will do a like for like swap just because you dont like the phone. As you appear to be on contract you would have to pay anything outstanding on your account.

Probably the best thing is to get the phone repaired via Samsung and sell it on so you can buy a new handset with the money you make from the sale?

Are you sending it to O2 repairs or the manufacturer?

Send it straight to Samsung as the phone has a 2 year warranty & they are more likely to fix it for you.

It is also under Samsungs 2 year warranty and you may be better to send it to them as opposed to O2 repairers Anova ....who don't have a very good reputation from what we hear from other posters...

Normally if a phone gets sent for repair 3 times with the same fault, O2 will exchange the phone for one of equal value and specs. They won't change the phone because you aren't happy with it after the initial 14 days in which you have to send it back.

My preferred option if you are really unhappy would be to get the phone repaired by Samsung and not O2, sell it to put to paying off the handset and then upgrade to a new phone of your choice.

One of the problems posting at 7.45am with no sleep after a night watching football and a very noisy nightclub is slowness of finger and brain and restrictive eyesight....Spaced
