Hi there,

I recently review my bill via the O2 application and noted I had been charged £3.75 for a text message I recieced!!

How is this possible, when -

a. I did not register with anybody?!

b. they sent me a text! Not like I sent one to them?!

The message was received from the following number 84648 - speaking with O2 live chat, they advised it was a third party company called 'Goldeness Short Code' and to call their customer service number on 03333441902.

I have tried contacting them but had no luck so far.

Therefore want to know how I can prevent this from happening again? Is there a way to stop these messages coming in/companies not being able to do this?

Will O2 reimburse me?

Any support will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Tal.

o2 may re-imburse, but really you should be speaking to the company who imposed the charge that you have the details for @Tal.
The best way is to ask o2 to apply restrictions to your account to stop this happening.
If you follow the guides mentioned above they give details of what to ask for.

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).

Thanks gmarkj. Yes just did that. O2 have applied a bar on further charges and premium messages as such. Also as a good will they will be crediting.

Great stuff from the 02 live team as always!
