Porting of number is taking many days - Looking for help with this

I moved a mobile to O2 last week (Thursday) and when entering the PAC I was told the phone number would move the same day. It's now Monday late evening and still the number has not moved. This is now costing me money as my old contract will not stop until the port is complete. I cannot use many services that depend on TXT messages to my phone number. I'm considering cancelling and moving back to my old provider.

Can anyone offer help?

Regards

Dave

Hi @Dave-H Porting will take place the next day providing the PAC code has been provided early enough in the day. This is a guide to porting to O2 Guide: Migration & porting into O2

When did you get your O2 sim card?

You will need to speak to O2 customer services to find out what is going on. See the O2 social media links in my signature.

Phone: Motorola G100, 128GB, Android 12, SIMO 20Gb
Broadband: Virgin 350Mb, Tp-Link Router - Deco S4

Hi Spenny, thanks for replying

The SIM arrived Wednesday last week. I had provided the PAC during the order process.

I placed the SIM in the phone on Wednesday afternoon. By Thursday I got worried that the number SWAP wasn't working so I raised another request to O2 using the same PAC code.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday have now passed and still the SWAP hasn't happened.

I suspect something has gone wrong somewhere. I don't see any place to check the SWAP/Porting request to see what stage it's at.

o2 has a serial problem with PACs given during the ordering process @Dave-H

You will need to contact o2 to give them the PAC again, either by calling or messaging on social media.

There might be a form in the migrating and porting guide Spenny has given ( Guide: Migration & porting into O2   just in case) you can use.

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).

@Dave-H let us know how it goes once you speak to O2.  I have recently had 2 new sims.  One ported perfectly and the other ported before the sim arrived.  So yours not porting after the sim has arrived is the other end of the issue. ☹️

Thanks @Spenny and @gmarkj.

I contacted O2 and this afternoon the number was ported over. All sorted now.

Best regards
