Hi all,

I’ve been having major issues with my data recently, say the last 3/4 weeks, I can’t even load webpages if I’m on 4g.

Doing numerous speed tests, my upload is normally always faster than my download speed.

I just don’t know what to do and it’s really frustrating me now?

It must be maintenance or repairs on the network.

Have you checked the local status?

Yep, it’s all fine.

I always without fail get 4 bars, now I rarely get 2 bars.

Hi all,

As mentioned in a previous post, I’ve been having major issues with data on my phone.

O2 tell me they’re not throttling my account, but it just doesn’t ring true because my data is fine before 7am, the second 7am comes my data is rubbish.

IF they were throttling my data, would the download speed still be low on 3G?

Sounds like you are hitting the peak time congestion, that is seen on both mobile and landline services come 7am

What speeds are you getting on both 3G and 4G?
- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

At my work/home is the 2 most affected areas.

Work on 4g I’m getting less than 1mbps - 3G I’ve been hitting 13mbps

It’s only happened in the last few weeks and I’ve never had an issue before at either home or work.

If there was any kind of data restriction on my account (bars or blocks etc) would the download speed still be rubbish on 3G? Or would it be better even though there’s a bar on my account?

I would expect a bar to stop data altogether @Hagz1990

More likely a network issue that isn't being admitted to.

@MI5

Thank you.

Would the download speed on 3G/4G be the same speeds usually?

If they have barred my account, would I still get a strong 3G download speed?

is it possible to just restrict data on 4g do you know?

3g and 4g can and do vary in speed.

If 4g is slow, 3g can sometimes be quicker.

There could be a fault on 4g also which does not effect 3g.
