Hi, I have a pay monthly phone but I don’t really use it so I’m thinking of cancelling the contract however if I do this will I still be able to look at my existing text messages (from someone now passed away) & look at old photos? I’m know I would Not be able to make/receive calls, send or receive text messages.

Yes, they would stay on phone until deleted.

You're welcome, but as a precaution anyway, I would back up all your photos and messages to your PC as you never know if or when your phone could crash.

For things obviously valuable to you, it's always a good idea to have at least one backup yoou can restore from.

Do  try to make a backup of any important messages from loved ones

I still have a voicemail from my late wife that I listen to occasionally

It's such a comfort that I can hear her speak on any device I have at any time whenever I feel down
