I don't believe the O2 Travel bolt on is appropiate for me in America. I tend to use very little whilst away. just the odd text or call. Which I don't think will equate to £4.99 per day.

But is there a cap like the £50 Europe one?

Yes there is a cap but be aware that it is per billing period, so if you are away when your month renews you can get a double charge at the capped rates.

If using standard rates, there is no tethering on data speeds, but it ain't cheap.

Hi @TheTed The £4.99 charge will be triggered by a single text or call. Add to that from recent reports data is pretty much unusable.

Personally I would suggest getting your phone unlocked and using a local sim https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/Unlocking-an-O2-phone-to-use-a-different-SIM-card/ba-p/1...
