Phone still allowing to use minutes even though limit has been reached!

Hi.

First time on here, please be sweet confused

I changed the tariff on my daughter's phone, it allowed 500 mins. I had no idea that once these were used it would still allow her to use more!!

I honestly believed that once the mins were used, she wouldnt be allowed to use anymore and the phone simply wouldnt allow it.

You can imagine my horror to see she's used the 500 and another £44.99 worthscream

Does the 'cut off'not happen anymore? ( phone stop working )

I'm flabbergasted at this/I really am.

I thought I had no worry as once she had used her 500, her phone wouldnt allow moreworried

Would appreciate any help.

Thank you.

Minutes have never stopped on contract.
The only way is on PAYG when credit is exhausted.
Use the MyO2 app to track usage in future to avoid this happening.

@AnonymousThis is entirely up to you...but you may want to think about changing her tariff to one with unlimited minutes (or even 1000mins). It would certainly be less expensive than what you are paying for now. wink

@Anonymous Another alternative, if you didn't want to spend more money, is to switch to Tesco Mobile, where you can put a cap on the amount you spend. Tesco also uses the O2 network.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

I trust that your daughter is now a little more educated and will be careful herself now. If she is old enough then perhaps let her have access to My O2 so that she can monitor her own usage.
