Took my galaxy s2 out yesterday on about 90% charge, 20 minutes later and it's off, cant switch on or charge, will try a new battery from a friends phone but it sounds like it's a hardware fault from what i've read.
Can o2 get this sent off for repair if i take it in, or do i still have a warranty with samsung at this point?

Did you try another battery to see if that is the issue?
Your firmware is massively out of date and 90% of battery drained issues is based on this forum and the many others forums dedicated to phones.
I only mention this as the first thing you will be asked or they will do is update your phone which will include removal of APPs you have installed.
Not sure if they will charge if the fault turns out to be an App or firmware update? Worth bearing in mind if trying another battery does not solve the issue.

2.34 is massively out of date. You should download Samsung Kies and update the software first before trying anything else.

The phone will not charge, switch on or respond to any hard/soft reset, completely dead.

I think the KI4 firmware was the firmware that came with the phone, or maybe it was one i had updated to previously, it was stuck in my mind for some reason... I was running the latest version of ICS anyway, probably 4.0.3, not 2.3.4...
The phone itself was actually dead, this wasn't a battery drain issue, it switched off while in my pocket and no charger or battery replacement would revive it. Dead. If you google "galaxy s2 dead" you'll get an idea on similar cases people have experienced, most say that it's a motherboard replacement.
Just to update the thread, i phoned Samsung and they already had my previous support form on their system, after asking if id tried another charger/battery, and if i'd dropped it in water at all, they said they will send a prepaid jiffy bag out so they can carry out a repair within 5-10 days.
