This afternoon I received a phone call from the number 02084467789 claiming to be o2. The call was regarding my phone contract and they were saying that my contract was to be reduced by 50%. I was sent a security warning text and then a text saying be alert for fraud with a code to retrieve my o2 account. The man on the phone asked for the code but I said I wasn't comfortable sharing that with him and hung up. Then when I logged in to 'My o2' this evening I was asked to reset my password. Was this a legitimate call or an attempted scam? Also, as I had to reset my password, is my account still secure?

It was probably one of O2's trusted partners
Change your password as someone was trying to access your account
O2 would never ask for your security code so this was a scam
Check My O2 to make sure no phone has been ordered
Block the number
You absolutely did the right thing in not giving them the pass code
