My son has a phone on a monthly contract that my ex husband took out for him when we were married. It’s all in my exes name and he pays the bill. Ex husband has moved and says that because our son lives with me I need to take over the ownership of the account. Basically he says the phone bill needs to match the address where our son lives.
does anyone know if this is true please

Your ex is wrong. He took out the contract so the responsibility is his. If he stop paying for it, it's his credit rating which will be affected not yours.
People move house so he should have let O2 know. However, thats irrelevant. People cant just change ownership of a phone contract.
