Phishing text?

Hi,

I received two text messages reporting to be from O2 stating that my payment could not be taken for my monthly plan and to go to My O2 to update my details and provided a link. I’m always suspicious about things like that, so I haven’t clicked on anything in the texts. I immediately went to the O2/My O2 apps and checked my details. My payment is made monthly through direct debit, not by a card number. The messages are from two different numbers: +44 7385 797607 and +44 7385 797340. Can I verify that my account is okay and that these messages are, in fact, phishing scams?

Thanks.

If there is nothing showing on your account, and you didn't click on the links, you should be fine.

Forward both messages to 7726 (it's free)to report them as spam/phishing.

If you feel the need, call customer services to confirm nothing is on the account:

I too got this.  Assume this is the scam and not related to the current actual O2 issues I saw being reported by people?

It's the same scam reported repeatedly @welshsteve76

It's a well known scam.
Block the number and report it free to 7726.
Don’t open any links or enter any information.

Thanks @jonsie  I recognised it as spam straight away and have advised my wife recently the same thing.  Just wanted to doublecheck due to the issues reported over the past few days by people.

Thanks

Steve
