Paying off device plan

So I am looking to pay off my device plan so I can switch to a cheaper monthly deal.

I can (according to the website) make this payment online as I am on 360.

However, the amount I can pay doesn't match the total outstanding and drops depending on which option I choose.

Let's say the balance is £150. I can choose either to reduce the monthly payment, and select an amount. The maximum of which is £145.

Or I can choose to reduce the plan term, and the max here is £115.

Why can't I choose the full amount outstanding regardless of the option? Any ideas?

This looks like something you’d need to call O2’s customer service team about – give them a call on 202  or 0344 809 0202

Use the specific Payment management number  0800 902 0217

The opening times are:
Monday to Friday – 8am to 8pm
Saturday – 8am to 6pm
Sunday – 9am to 6pm

Another 360 'feature'?

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Thanks @jonsie !

Yeah, most likely @Enlli . Just assumed that you could choose the whole amount (give or take a payment) but found it odd that neither came very close.

Is this a deliberate thing @Dave-O2 or some quirk of a system?

Thanks for the tag @gmarkj

Just to confirm if you go through the upgrade journey, do you not have the option to pay the current Device Plan at checkout?

However, a customer may not wish to upgrade but simply pay off the device plan

That's the thing @Dave-O2 , I'm not looking to upgrade - I just want to pay off the device plan.

could follow the upgrade process, and that seems to work, but I was going to wait until the price rise is confirmed to see if I can nab a deal.
