Paying off device plan to upgrade early

Hi guys.

I currently have 2 accounts with O2 one for me one for my partner.

One of my accounts says I can pay off the balance of £72 and upgrade today or carry on paying and upgrade on July 23rd.

It says please call O2 for upgrade options. However my other account states I can pay off the balance online and upgrade online.

I'm just wondering why one account is letting me upgrade online and the other says I need to call O2 to check options? This is currently not possible due to the long delays and O2 prioritising vulnerable customers so the phone lines are jammed (iwas on hold for almost an hour on Friday so gave up)

Just wondering if I make a payment of the 72 on my account online will it let me upgrade online right away or will I still need to call O2?

Once paid fully you can upgrade any type of account.

Additionally, upgrades are working as normal if you call 202.
