 Got a new phone from CPW, with a new O2 PAYG number and tariff.

Wanted to transfer unused £6.40odd balance and number from the old PAYG O2 Sim to the new one, so the Guru in the local O2 shop has kicked that off, 24hrs for completion.

Meanwhile, a £6 bolt-on falls due for renewal tomorrow, and O2 website says the bolt-on cannot be removed today... Bolt-on does not apply to new Sim bundle... Just wondering if the balance transfer will be £6. 40odd or just £0.40odd... Thoughful

Next time the "less haste, more speed" principle might be more prudent tongue

The guys in the O2 shop knew that everyone buying that model of phone was getting it in the CPW shop downstairs for two reasons: CPW offered all 4 colours, O2 only offer silver, and CPW had stock in store, O2 "might have some in on Saturday".

CPW would not help with the number transfer, either...

If it's needed again in the future, you need to migrate your number to the new sim, which will retain the tariff and credit on the new sim and ask that any credit be moved to the new sim too, but it will take 24 hours for the credit to transfer.
The number transfer should be done almost immediately.

I shall do that, many thanks for all the help, @MI5 (and @Anonymous for the original mini-guide).

And @jonsie for the twists I caused to his cranium dizzy

I've had the day from hell and my heads all over the place so I'm easily confused.

She has not set hands on it yet @Marjo@, it is destined to be put under the Christmas tree for opening at Christmas. .. She has the new Sim in her existing Blu Mark Life, with its glittery, hazed screen, "for testing purposes" ;

Did you check in My O2 to see if sim swap is in the menu @pgn

I know it's too late now but it would be handy knowing?
