Hi,

Can anyone advise how to do the above? Want to pay off the remaining contract in the app and then have my existing SIM card amended to a new SIM only tariff.

Thanks.

Hi @BK_2020 ,

The easiest way is to log in via the O2 website and process an upgrade. You can pay off your existing contract and upgrade to a sim only in the same process. Dont worry everything stays the same regarding your sim card, mobile no, billing date etc

Thanks for your reply Sean. The problem is I only have the option to upgrade to a new phone from the website.

It states: '£0 left to pay on your existing contract Upgrade to O2 Refresh today and we’ll pay off the rest of your existing contract for you. Otherwise you’ll finish paying it off through your monthly payments, on 24 January 2021.'

This isn't correct - I still have some money to pay off on the contract.

So do I need to pay the full amount remaining in the My Bills/Make a Payment section and then try to upgrade? How will I know if O2 have treated this as me paying off instead of making an overpayment on my next regular bill? (Sorry for all the questions)

Did you take the contract through o2 originally?
If you have only done it today then it might take a few days to catch up.
