Pay monthly full to just sim

I currently have an account with a device plan and airtime. Is it possible to pay off the device only (earlier than the contract ends) and just continue with a sim only contract instead?

Yes that's what refresh is designed to help with.
Once the device part is paid you can continue to just pay the airtime or cancel the current airtime plan and change it for a different one on a simo tariff.

You will probably find a better sim only deal too as there are some good offers at the moment. It might mean ending the current air time too though if you are happy with the tariff and price there is no need. Good to bear in mind for the future though.
