Pay Monthly Phone, still being charged despite requesting to cancel while Overseas

Hi, just wondering if I can have some help.

Currently in Australia. My phone # with O2 was originally a contract for a Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, which was paid off, and then a PAYG monthly Sim was used for that number while I finished my last month in the UK. I didn't actually get to cancel the number until I was in Canada, due to the rush of actually leaving.

However, when I spoke to someone about cancelling my contract after unlocking my phone, it seems like the PAYG monthly still continued. I've been using an Australian Sim in the last few months, and an Australian account, and it was only when I tried to transfer some money over today that I noticed that the last few months of the PAYG was paid for on a rolling contract. The account is tied to my old UK address, where elderly parents now live, so not exactly a thing to get the Bailiffs around for, and I don't want this going on a credit report, so I can't just cancel it.

I thought I'd requested this to cancel when I'd asked for my phone to be unlocked.

Now being on the otherside of the world, I'm now trying to get in touch with 02 on an -10 hour time difference, when I'm also working evenings, and don't have access to my phone until stupid o'clock in the morning. If I could just stop my account it would be fine, but it would also be nice to get back the other £60 that O2 have taken from me because of their agent not actually doing what was requested of them.

How do I go about this without waiting for a postal letter to travel for 3 weeks?

One of the problems being overseas with time difference I'm afraid. I have a similar problem though the time difference here is only 7 hours.
All you can do is make the time to call them even if it is silly o'clock there. Customer service will be open from 6pm to 7am Australian time.
Failing that it is snail mail I'm afraid.

There is an email address to complain within this link below. Maybe help?

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
