Why is it such a hassle to remover the parental filters from my devices?

As a 40 something male with no young children, I feel I'm old enough to use my own discretion as to what Websites I visit. (and No, Not ****** sites.)

I don't have a credit card, so according to O2, I need to visit a shop with either my passport or driving license to prove my date of birth... WHY? O2 already have this information floating around their customer profile of me. When I started my contract the shop assistant took my D.O.B and verified it against my driving license.

Why do I have to prove something 02 already know?

Contracts may be purchased and given to a minor, after all, everyone needs to be over 18 to get a contract anyway, but this is an OFCOM ruling that a customer must go through the request for age verification to get it removed.
Every sim has it set to ON by default on every network - it's the law wink
