Pairing to Apple Watch

I have a £10 a month sim only contract with data allowance of 10GB, i have WiFi calling and 4g calling switched on but when i try to add data it wants to charge me £5 for an airtime plan. I don't have the option to add an existing plan. Do I have to pay the additional £5 a month for the watch or has something gone wrong somewhere? 

I have only just managed to move my old number over to o2 today- could that be the issue?

You have to pay £5.00 for the watch data plan, unless you pair it via bluetooth.
