PAYG first top up - Voucher? I never knew that!

Anonymous

I've just been told I've wasted ages trying to top up a new PAYG SIM for the first time. Online don't work, by phone don't work. Then I'm told the first top up needs to be done by voucher.

Not once does it say anywhere that this is necessary anywhere on the information I was given with the SIM.

Thanks O2 for wasting so much of my time. Rubbish!

I like to ask questions first and take it from there, no point in sharing all my possible answers without knowing the facts.

Edit: Forgot to mention, One card can be used to Top-Up two different phones.

Just to add to the mix here. When I was on PAYG along with two family members it was the rule that you could only have 2 phones associated with ONE card. . I used one of my cards to top up my phone. The 2nd card was used to top up my son and daughter-in law.....No problem at all registering the cards using the automated top up system. (4444)

I had no problem topping mine up for the first time on Friday - it's just My o2 that's playing up now.

Both - they are reporting "there has been a problem, please try again later"

Do you use that card to top up other pay and go numbers?

No, I have two other numbers with O2 aand they are both monthly contract.

The address O2 has on the System, is that the same as the cards billing address?

O2 has no details of the card, when I try to top up I select 'not used this card before' option and add the card details during the top up process. Once I get to the end I get the "there has been a problem, please try again later" message.

This is the same message I've seen all week and the same message I hear on the phone using 4444.
