PAC Code and keeping numbers

Hi,

I have found a good deal that is better than the one O2 can offer me. The thing is, it's through another company but it's an O2 contract.  Can I use my PAC code to port my number to this new phone? Any advice would be great. I found some help, but it was 9 years old!

Thanks in advance

Hi @Anonymous You should be able to take out the new contract then contact o2 who will transfer your number to the new contract effectively ending your current contract. You won’t need a pac code though as you aren’t moving networks

Re: PAC Code and keeping numbers

You need to take your new contract then ask customer service to migrate your current number to the new contract.
This will end the current contract and generate the final bill, so you will have 2 bills to pay during the first month of the new contract.

Thanks lovemyphone.  Nice quick and helpful reply.  Was looking to avoid being 'double dipped' for both contracts for a month.

No way of avoiding it unless you upgrade with O2 directly unfortunately.

Thanks MI5, guess I'll just have to deal with it! Was hoping to have a smooth, cheap transition...
