Is there any information about when a new delivery of stock is due? Obviously what arrived on Monday wasn't sufficient to meet the demand and loads who have pre ordered have yet to receive their handset. I spoke on the chat earlier but they were very vague about when their stock would be replenished.

I completed my order on the phone. Should I have received an email with an expected delivery date? I only got a verbal commitment on the phone, which of course has long since past.

You should have received the contract by email in which you should have accepted the terms and conditions.
Without that, your odrer won't proceed.
