If my tarriff says 'overseas travel' free, does this mean that phone calls and texts to and from my phone while I am abroad are 'free' within my normal monthly allowance?

The O2 Travel bolt on will show as free in My O2 but you will still need to pay for all calls and texts used overseas. rates as per the web page below:

http://international.o2.co.uk/internationaltariffs/travelling_abroad

You can use TuGo if you are pay monthly over wifi and calls/texts back to the UK will come from your allowance.

Hi,

Where are you travelling to ?

What tariff are you on ?

Your normal monthly allowances are typically for Uk use only.

Heres the o2 Travel link to help.

http://www.o2.co.uk/international/o2-travel

Typically buying a local sim where you are going is the best cheapest way of using your phone, as long as its unlocked to all networks.

You can get your phone unlocked for free if your on a pay monthly contact or £15 if your on Payg {T&C Apply.}

https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%20Form

use wifi when and where you can.

turn off 3g when not needed.

Also turn off o2 voicemail before you leave the Uk.

If your unsure or worried then speak to Uk o2 Customer services by dialing 202 from your mobile for clarification.
