Outstanding bill payment

I have recently looked at my credit report and it seems I owe o2 £7 from when I had a contract out with them some years ago. This is news to me as I've never had any letters or contact from them asking for payment. I can't remember my old number or any details apart from the obvious (my names and address) how would I go about paying this off so that I can stop 'defaulting' on payment and improve my credit rating!

Hi @Anonymous the best thing you can do is ring customer services and make payment that way. You need someone to take a note that you have paid it http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

Sadly it may not have any effect on your credit rating for some time though...

Thank you slight_smile I no it may take some time but the sooner I can get it paid the better. Just a shame someone from o2 didn't contact me about this asap, as this was from a contract I had out almost 5 years ago! Had I not checked my credit report it could have gone on for much longer

It comes off after 6 years automatically so I'd be inclined to ignore it.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I very much doubt O2 would be able to take the payment now or even have a record of it after so long. Debts are usually passed on though for £7 you would have hoped to have received some communication from them 5 years ago. Sadly this happens all too often. You merely need to search 'credit default' in the box at the top of the community pages.
