I went on holiday to Greece but have been charged for a non_EU data download -  I never left Greece but the phone picked up a mobile signal from Turkey even though I was not within its geographical boundaries. I do not accept it is fair that I should be charged

This is called accidental roaming @Sally14 and happens when your phone is set to automatic and picks up a stronger signal from a Turkish network.

Have you spoken to customer services? They might be able to provide some help - nothing is guaranteed, but if you are polite then they might agree to reduce some of the charges.

Call 202 from your phone just after 8am, or 0344 809 0202 (or 0800 032 1402).

Some more information about Turkish charges are in the guide below:

Guide: Roaming in Turkey and Cyprus

And more general information about roaming:

Guide: Roaming MegaGuide

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).
