Ordering/Activating a Micro Sim for a friend

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

Wondering if anybody has had any experience with this.

I have bought a new phone for my girlfriend and need to order a micro sim that will fit it. Simple enough. I have been through the O2 sim swap process for my own phone so no problem there. However the online order form asks for a mobile number. Does the phone number I enter have to be for the sim I intend to swap? Or can it be my own, different number? I only ask because I want to have the sim ready with the new phone on Christmas morning. Obviously, as a present I don't want her find out. If o2 only use this number to call/text you updates I'd need it to be my own.

Cheers.

O2 will use it to send a confirmation text for security reasons. The best way to do it would be to pick up a blank sim in store and keep it to do the sim swap online on Christmas morning.
