@JamesM1 - once activated, £7/day, covers incoming and outgoing calls. Turn off Voicemail to make sure it does not kick in on days you don't plan calls.

Yes, roaming needs to be enabled in your phone and no roaming bar in your account.

You can use the O2 Travel Bolt On, which gives you unlimited minutes, texts and data for just £7 a day. You can opt-in to O2 Travel by texting TRAVEL to 23336. You’ll only be charged for the days you use it.

A cheaper way, if you just need data for WhatsApp is to get a local SIM card, our local expert @jonsie can advise on that best.

Thank you. What does no roaming bar in my account mean?

@JamesM1 - Bars discussed here

Guide: O2 BARs

and are accessible by O2 on your account and (sometimes) by you on your MyO2 web version: https://accounts.o2.co.uk/signin
