Hello
am very concerned about getting this text. I am a Vodafone mobile customer with no intention to change. However I took up Virgin broadband yesterday. They said if I took a sim with it (data 2 years contract) it would make it cheaper. So I though might as well. I have an old phone and could give to my daughter. Obviously when ordering the broadband I gave my own mobile number as contact point. He advised the phone number of the sim but I will check what is on it when it comes through. The thing is I don’t want to text this number to swap. I am worried this will bodge my own sim/contact if I do it from my phone. The intention of this sim coming from o2/Virgin is to have a completely separate account. How do I activate this new sim without this danger of swapping? So that my phone stays with Vodafone? Hope that makes sense and whether someone can offer advice
Many thanks,
Wayne

Just do nothing.
The new O2 sim will come activated with a new number and no swap will occur unless you initiate it.

Just jumping in on this one as I have a sim on it way but would like to swap my Vodaphone number to the new sim but the txt has come through to another phone. What is the process when you txt swap and do I need a PAC code before doing so?

If you are moving from Vodafone you will first need to get a PAC code from them then follow this guide
Guide: Migration & porting into O2
