O2 rip off for service charges.

How can O2 justify charging me £27.58 for one call to book a holiday? The Cunard component is 3p per minute. I have sent in a complaint, rang, emailed but no joy whatsoever. I am now looking for another mobile provider.

Good advice @MI5

And very true, the only reason to offer an 084 number is to take more profit out of the customer..

Why doesnt the op approach Cunard and ask why they use such a number and to refund him the access charges?

Some of these replies miss the point, I now know full well what the charges are. My point is about the fact that these charges are not clearly advertised unless you ferret about on the O2 website. Why should I need to check each time I make a call? I have "learned my lesson" (patronising or what?), but I will not stay with O2 unless this is resolved to my satisfaction. The barrack room lawyers out there can say what they want to.

Cunard didn't charge me 55p per minute, O2 did. The 55p per minute charge goes into O2's pocket, not Cunard's.

I've not missed the point at all.
I've been with O2 20 years and EE for 16 years but I still don't expect free calls to chargeable numbers.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I don't expect free calls to chargeable numbers either, when have I said that? I just don't expect to be ripped off. O2 keep the lions share of the huge charge made, that IS a rip off. And you are (deliberately it seems) missing the point.

This is only going to continue going round in circles, so as you now have all the info relating to charges for all networks along with the link to provide O2 with feedback on your thoughts, I'll leave you to it and good luck with obtaining a satisfactory outcome.
