O2 refresh - no new phone?

Anonymous
Not applicable
My O2 refresh iPhone 5c is paid off in sept. Do I need to get a new phone. If i don't can I stay on the same tarif I am currently on? Just asking because all the new tariffs are double the price of my current one. Thank you in advance. If I do have to sign up for new I think I may go to pay and go as o2's new pricing is very expensive xxx

You don't need to do anything.
Once the phone is paid off o2 will stop billing you for the phone and just bill you for the airtime at the same price as you pay now for the airtime part.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Hi @Anonymous

If your contract ends in September and the device is paid in full.... then it is yours to do as you want with

If you want to go onto PAYG  then you can ....Some info here on PAYG tariffs

Thank you, do you know if I be able to stay in my current airtime plan? Would I become a sim only contract?

I do know when you pay off the device it is yours and your bill halves. However if the contract is up is September you may have to renew it or it becomes a 30 day rolling contract.

Nearer the time you can check in my O2 to see what your options are? http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2

If you don't want a new phone you can stay on the same tariff or change to any sim only deal. The choice is yours but you can check your options in My O2.

Yes, you should be able to keep the tariff that you're on atm. I'd look at all of your options though, just in case there's something cheaper for you.
