O2 insurance

Can someone please explain, I pay monthly for mobile insurance with o2. I broke my iPhone screen yesterday so called to make a claim and was told I have to pay £50 I don't understand why I have to pay extra when I already pay a monthly rate

It's called excess. All insurances carry an excess, it's industry standard and explained in the T&C's of your policy.

Same with car insurance, home insurance, holiday insurance... all have variable amounts of excess to pay.

Yes I recently asked for a quote for holiday insurance.....I decided not to bother when I saw the excess LOL
