Don't get too hung up about it, for most it's about 15 - 25 pence a week.

69p extra a month for me. Doesn't sound a lot but with rises in utilities, train fares, petrol, insurance it all adds up.
I can't remember the last time I got a pay rise that matched inflation.

O2 waited ages to do this and it's better than an across the board increase on everything.

Oh well, that's OK then...
Still doesn't detract from the fact they are luring customers into 18/24 month contracts thinking they are paying one price, then handing out 3.2% increases.

When would be a better time to introduce it then, wait until everybody has finished the contract they're on?
Oh hang on that wouldn't work either!
"Luring"!

Yes, of course. Why wouldn't it? I could have taken out a 24 month contract 2 weeks ago thinking, "nice price"...then they stitch me up with an increase. How is that even remotely fair?
See out the contract at the price you signed up for. Then upon upgrade you can make the decision as to whether the price is right to stay or move on. Even Which don't agree with mid-contract price rises, and OFCOM are conducting an investigation.

So everyone would be paying different charges for the same contracts, I guess that would cause issues too.
All the other main networks have already done this, so any changes will only apply in the future.
It's reasonable to assume they have thought about this.
on 11-12-2012 15:28
What kind of issues? Enlighten me.
Customers would be paying the price they signed up for. New customers and upgrades after the 28th Feb would pay the new prices. Where's the issue with that?

Why don't you address your complaint to O2?
Your charge is going up and you will have to pay it, if you can't understand that I'm sorry.
on 11-12-2012 15:38
Where did I say i couldn't understand it? I understand it perfectly.
I'm half way through a 2 year contract so I'm stuck whatever happens. What is annoying is that customers, myself included, just have to suck it up. The choice has been removed in a "like it or lump it" way, except that many of us can't "lump" it. Hence why, I assume, OFCOM are conducting an investigation.
If you can't understand why people would be annoyed then I'm sorry.
