O2 charged me for 2 years when I told them to cancel my contract

Anonymous

I was with O2 for 2 years when I decided to move and start a new contract with Orange, and canceled my O2 contract,
But, 2 years on and to my horror and total shock I have discovered that O2 didn't cancel my contract and I had been paying 2 years worth to O2 for what.? Nothing!! Is it wrong to think that I should have a full refund!
I have called up about this and it looks like they don't care and are happy to have taken my money for 2 years!

I think you'll be very lucky if you get any of it refunded. Please come back and let us know what the outcome is.

Good luck with the complaint, if O2 pay you back for this it will be the biggest goodwill payment we've seen!

Legally they're under no obligation but they could show you some pity.

I really can't understand anyone not noticing money being debited for 2 years? Unbelievable.

I can't really either. I check my (main) bank accounts at least once a day. Admittedly I do have other backup bank accounts that I check less often but these are not used often and don't have any direct debits going through them

To the OP - I hope you get the result you are looking for but as I and the others have pointed out, in the absence of any proof of your cancellation you are completely relying on goodwill here
