O2 advising Airtime Plan is much higher than normal?

Hi,

I just received a standard text message to say I'm out of my minimum contract term.

The part that confused me is it says "your monthly Airtime Plan is £30.62", which is over double what I currently pay monthly on a sim only contract.

Is this saying my bill next month will be for £30.62? Looking at my account I can't see anything to suggest the monthly charge is changing, so I'm not sure what this is referring to.

Thanks

@TomB1

O2 seem to just generate random numbers in some of those texts.

Your MYO2 will show the correct price.

You can use USwitch

https://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/compare/sim_only_deals/o2/

Choose the deal you want

This will automatically redirect you to the O2 website

Just follow the prompts and choose the UPGRADE option

Complete the deal and nothing on your account changes except the tariff at the new cheaper cost

Payment date is the same and your next bill will be at a cheaper rate and will be made up of the pro rata cost of your old tariff and your new tariff

The change should show in My O2 within 24 hours

Volt benefits will still apply as will possibly a 3 month extra such as Disney+

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Thanks for the help, managed to upgrade to a slightly better package for less than I was paying before!

Out of curiosity, if I hadn't upgraded would I likely have continued to be charged the same as previously, or is that random £30.62 what I would have been charged if I didn't select a new package?

It would have carried on the same, plus the annual rpi of course.

RPI - 2024
