Hi Folks

Warning to you if you are looking at staying with O2.

As we know - Most people are being sent price notification changes - Increasing your bill by £2.50 per Mobile Airtime number per month allowing you to cancel penalty free.

I decided to look at options on my 2nd number with O2 - I enquired about reducing my monthly cost while also staying with them. The advisor said they could reduce my cost to £18 for unlimited data.

Warnings if you go down this route. They will deactivate your current plan and service. This is not a Tariff change but a *NEW* 24 month term on a SIM only basis.

Due a System "Issue" - I have now lost my number and spent 3 hours on the phone on this one call (Ongoing) trying to restore it (Sadly its a number I use for banking and other services like WhatsApp)

My warning to anyone who is thinking staying with O2 via this route to be very careful as you could end up with no service.

Ill post an update here when I know more about the cause...

Eli

Some divine intervention from else where might step in?

Our friends at O2 who agreed to write of the Device Plan in full. The complaint is now settled in full pending the bill being generated and a credit offset. Exec team referred to legal team and they advise there wasnt much they can do to enforce the CCA given their error.

I'm having a similar issue.

My daughters iPhone is broken, won't respond to anything apart from screen lights up. After over 6 hours on the phone they said they would send me an envelope to retrieve phone. I sent it off then to be told it's out of warranty, I have full insurance, so I asked for the phone back so I could use the insurance instead, however they have cancelled the contract that goes with this phone and also the insurance, so my daughter has lost her phone and her number, I'm told they are sending out a new sim that I can change back to her old number, but when I receive the iPhone back how am I Kent to claim on the insurance when they have took it upon themselves to cancel it?

I'm livid and beyond upset at the fact no one at o2 seems to care and I'm probably going to have to pay the outstanding amount for the phone and I just don't know what to do next?

I need some help as the insurance was to fix any damage etc, and now they have cancelled it and said I have to ring up to reinstate it then send the phone to a different department

Stories such as this are getting more frequent by the day.

Hopefully you will get the phone back. If that happens I suggest you forget O2 insurance and sending it away and take it to a phone repair shop. I did that with my grandson's iPhone. Got it back same day.

Sadly, none of up here can help.

Maybe do the same as @Elihearts and email  ispReview.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@Mammyjudo

Insurance doesn't cancel immediately.

It runs until the end of the period you've paid for and 30 days notice is required also.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.
