Can i add this service on to any new 'sim only' 30 day contract and then use in China immediately (China isnt within the 75 inclusive countries) by paying the £4.99 fee when using data there?

i'm going to china for 2 weeks and this seems to be the easiest and cheapest way to use my phone out there without running up £100's in bills, i'm currently not a o2 customer

thanks

@FatBarney Any O2 customer can use it as it only needs one text a day to activate the £4.99 charge anyway

@FatBarney Yes you can.

You need to

text O2TRAVEL to 23336 to activate.

@FatBarney

I am a sim only customer and O2 Travel bolt on is available whether you are on a 30 day or 12 month contract.

If you aren't with O2 currently, you will need to get your phone unlocked from the network you are with.

Best of luck and welcome to the forum Welcome

Will the o2 Travel Service still work if i was in my notice period?

Can i tether to my own tablet?

also, just wanted to confirm;

if i send txt messages and recieve calls only, i dont pay the £4.99 as long as i have activated the service

@FatBarney

ONE text sent by you will activate the £4,99 charge. Even if you do nothing else that day.

Yes it will still work whilst you are in contract. (Notice period won't affect that)

To avoid the charge, use wifi which is plentiful. You can stay in contact with friends and family using Messenger, Whatsapp or Skype (as long as they have the same apps)

I wouldn't recommend trying to tether as the speeds won't be fast enough.
